Well the blog sort of wound down after most of us left Satipo (the project location) and I hear many of you have been waiting for a further update!

Steve Q, Sam K and Andrew B stayed in Satipo for the duration of last week, to help on the project for a little longer. The local workers are continuing building with good momentum, so the facility should be complete within a couple of months, ready for the official opening later on this year.

The rest of the crew headed back to Lima, this time taking the 400km / 1o hour bus trip during the day. That gave you a whole new perspective of the trip - with beautiful scenery along the way. We actually saw the sign marking the highest altitude we travelled over - 4,818m above sea level! This time the bus was only one level, so the girls saw what the guys experienced last time... efficient bus driving!

From Lima we flew to Cusco for four nights, and during this time explored various locations from that very cool city (3,400masl) and took a day trip to Machu Picchu. That was definitely a highlight of our time here!!

Here's a photo of the team at Machu Picchu, including Rudy our full-time tour guide and Ronny a local tour guide from Cusco:

I'd like to thank you for your patience in waiting for this update! I've got a few more photos which I've had up my sleeve for a while, and they will be posted below.

As we speak, the biggest group travelling together is currently on an 11-hour stopover in Santiago, Chile. It's a long one, but we're in a comfortable lounge here with everything we need on tap (except for the shower - which isn't available today...) It's great being back on a high-speed connection now, makes blogging a lot easier and faster

Sometime after I get home I'll create another post with some more photos of the buildings that Andrew took before he left Satipo, so check back by the end of this week and they should be up.

For all family members reading this, see you in 30 hours from now!

Ben :-)
