Real quick wrap-up

G'day all,

Well the last couple of days has been pretty action packed... and I have hundreds of photos from those two days alone. I had a selection of photos ready to upload, but this internet connection isn't fast enough to upload them in the time I have here (plus I should be sleeping!)

In a nutshell, yesterday (Wednesday) was interesting with more action around town on the protest front than on the first day. Today was back to normal though - when we woke up there was plenty of traffic outside and the shops were back open! The strike is over. Was certainly something interesting for us Australians to see during our trip!

Last night (Thursday) we threw a party at the hotel for all the local workers, senior council staff and hotel staff. Was a great night!! It was too dangerous to go out to a restaurant, so we had Pizza and Chinese delivered to the hotel. Fun times!!

After winding down our work on-site today, and many team members having time for shopping, motorcycle touring, sport with the locals etc. we were invited to attend the local town headquarters tonight for a special ceremony. There each team member was thanked by the mayor for coming to Satipo on this project and given a personalised certificate and gift pack!! It was another great night!

Great news now that the protest is over - we're able to resume a plan to visit an orphanage 3 hours away, and travel there tomorrow.

Not sure when I'll get these photos online, but will hopefully be able to post them soon! As slow as it may seem, we really take internet availability for granted in Australia...
