The work continues - day eight

July 4, 2008 @ 9pm in Peru (185 days ago) - View/add comments at Blogger.com

Day eight was another big day on the site getting preparations ready for more concrete foundations.

Here Carolina helps get boxes set up to place in as guides for the foundation concrete
Sam and a local worker installing these
Kate's been working on the steel column frames with that little tool - and she's ensuring it also has the chance to enjoy some tunes on the job!
This is the transport for part of the day, a shiny red Wanxin WX125-A. Never seen one before I visited here!
Meanwhile some of the crew is back over at the special school for the morning.
Here Danny takes some time away from the construction to hang out with the special students
Music and dance is an important part of their curriculum. Here's Gaby having a dance!
The teacher of one of the classes (in the middle)
And the other teacher dancing with a student. They're very dedicated to helping these kids!
Rudy is showing Camilla a few Latin dance moves :-)
