The work continues - day tenJuly 4, 2008 @ 10pm in Peru (185 days ago) - View/add comments at Blogger.com Well today capped off a big week at the site! All the team agrees that progress has been substantial.
The locals use rocks to hold the concrete supports

Camilla with a new recycled vest, which one of the workmen previously made!
Steve is a machine... he was always on the go doing something - and moved a lot of rocks around to where they were needed
Chris unloading some rocks
Kate hard at it!
Toby got the beams in place for the wheelbarrows to safely go over trenches
Carolina with a hard hat, just like the locals
Andrew and Jayden helping get column supports in place
The latest work site shoes for the construction industry...

An overview of one of the future classrooms
Lots of rocks to distribute!
Sam has had plenty of practice at this
One of the column supports made on site
All the wheelbarrows waiting while the mixer needed repair during the day - it probably hasn't had this much constant work for a while!
A fresh load of sand - this was God-send! Just before 3pm, we had a few hours of work left and Toby got the crew together for a team prayer. Soon after we restarted this sand was delivered and it made the concrete mixing a lot better!
Putting the mixer into place at the new sand pile
This was the only cloud in this part of the sky - and it covered the sun for a little while, giving us a reprieve from the heat. Good observation, Dan T! Thanks God!
Guess what time the mixing finished? 5pm on the dot! Another answer to prayer
A nice clean mixer at the end of a hard day...
Cleaning the concrete power off a wheelbarrow
Getting ready for next week's work
One of the wheelbarrows - all pushed in!
The divide between the wet and dry sand...
And Danny's very happy to finish this day!
Well, now the blog is finally up to date and I can get some rest!!! Hope all of the above made sense.
I just have one more request - please keep our team members in your prayers. A couple are currently sick - mainly from exhaustion and the heat. One or two have been taking rest days here and there for short-term bugs, and we hope the current ones are the same. Thanks for your continued prayers and support! I know our team is especially thankful for the day of rest tomorrow...
