The work continues - day twelveJuly 7, 2008 @ 4pm in Peru (182 days ago) - View/add comments at Blogger.com Sunday morning at the worksite:
Glenn and Andrew removing steel supports from out of the sand
Jesus, one of the site managers, directs the other local crew. Notice how they use kids chairs as supports for the wood cutting!
I bought this long-sleeved t-shirt for $4, then Andrew borrowed it to work in. I'll let him keep it!
A small part of a big pile of cement bags waiting to be used
Every time we turned the mixer off, we could clearly hear music being blasted from someone's function across the valley, here Dan does a dance with the shovel! Was funny at the time :-)
Fernando gets a load of concrete
Kate is close behind!
Danny adds another bag of concrete powder to the mix
Five guys shovelling sand all at once ensured a very fast batch
Dan B gets another concrete powder bag ready
And adds it to the mixer. It's not an easy task, with each bag weighing 42.5kg!
Andrew drives the mixer while Lara picks up her load
Jess adds just the right amount of water to the mix
Some of the crew have been busy decorating inside out storage shed!
Some of the team take time out to watch the tennis during siesta, while Jess reads the latest blog + comments
The significance of these two photos is some of the team members who weren't well are now on their way to recovery, able to get out of bed now and walk around! Others in the photo are having a true siesta :-D
